An unexpected trip to BELFAST

I'm HOME! If you follow my blog then you'll know I'm off to America this summer to work at a summer camp and I am extrememly excited! The last thing I had to do was get my visa and after completing my application it was revealed that there were no more appointments in London! So where did I have to go? Belfast.

After getting over the shock mum booked us flights and a hotel in Belfast. We left on Wednesday (11th) and got back late Thursday night (12th). Although it was quick we had an interesting experience.

My visa appointment was at 8:30 in the morning. Apparently the earlier the appointment the quicker the whole process is. There's lots of waiting around, security checks, paperwork and then the interview is like two minutes long. Nothing major.

After my appointment myself and mum decided to grab some breakfast and see the city, like proper tourists. We had a fantastic breakfast in weatherspoons, the ulster breakfast, complete with....potato bread, needless to say I didn't think much of that.

We then were convinced to go on a city sightseeing tour by a beautiful Irish man who I think was called Mickey. Our tour guide was called Alana and our driver was called Sam! All the staff were amazing and really helpful. I'd fully recommend a tour of Belfast. There was so much history I never even knew about! It was well worth it.

We ate so much through out the day and managed to grab a bus to the airport right on time!

Bristol airport is easy to get through, the only thing we had taken off us was our liquids that were over 100ml however trying to back through Belfast airport was a nightmare. Our shoes were off, our bags were searched, they took things out, bagged things. It was a nightmare!

Have you ever been to Ireland? What do you think of potato bread?
