After Charlotte sent me a link to the e.l.f store Cardiff's ad for a few volunteers for their Christmas advert I got in touch immediately, e.l.f is a company I've heard about a lot, especially on my trip over to America last Summer and I think over the years I've had a few e.l.f products that I didn't even know were e.l.f, so I thought this was a great opportunity to go down and see what all the hype was about.
If you follow me on Instagram then you've seen what I look like on a normal day to day basis, if not here's a look....
e.l.f's idea was to create a before and after shot including some filming of the process. I haven't got the professional shots yet but I do have some that Charlotte took after we were made up! It's fair to say I cried with joy....
Charlotte (e.l.f) was the make up artist who did this fantastic look on me. I'm 'glamour' and Charlotte is 'classic'.
THE BASE OF MY FACE
I find it soooo difficult to get coverage over my red skin and tzone area so when I saw the outcome I couldn't believe how even and fantastic my skin looked. So here's a list of the products on the base of my face;
HD mattiflying foundation in porcelain which she applied with a powder brush. She used HD mattifying foundation in caramel to contour my face. Under eye concealer and highlighter was used on my eyes and nose. To brighten up my under eyes she used tone corrector in cool and the yellow tone corrector to set my face.
And finally peachy cheeky blush and studio baked highlighter shade blush gems on cheeks.
EYES
My eyes consisted of several shades from the 100 piece eyeshadow Palette, Mineral Eyeshadow in Sassy and Baked Eyeshadow in Bark.
Something must of been really funny...teeth are out
The girls at e.l.f did a fantastic job!
Charlotte was rocking those red lips don't you think?
That one annoying piece of fringe.
So after the shoot I decided to stay and have a look around at what else e.l.f had to offer on their lovely shelves.
e.l.f have got a fabulous range with plenty of choice to choose from in shades and colours not to mention the amazing prices they sell their products at! What's actually just caught my eye on the website is the Beauty Book pictures above for £6.00 which I really need to grab in store or online when I get a chance.
Here's the fantastic Charlotte!
WHY SHOP AT E.L.F CARDIFF?
The ladies working at e.l.f really know what they're talking about and give the ultimate customer experience. Whilst I sat in the chair I witnessed something I'd never seen before in other, bigger make up retail stores. They knew the regulars, every customer got a friendly and genuine greeting when entering and the girls at e.l.f were so helpful to customers who needed assistance or had questions they needed answering. These girls weren't pushy and full on trying to up sell and add on other items, they were knowledgeable and genuine. I was very impressed with the shopping experience I had and the shopping experiences of other very happy shoppers. Why can't more stores be like this?
Plus I was so impressed I bought some of the make up Charlotte had used...
