An American in Wales || Day 1 Arriving & Dining

If you have been following on Twitter lately you'll know that this week one of the lovely ladies I met in America last year has come to stay with me for a few days which I'm really excited about.
Christine arrived off the National Express Coach around 3 on Tuesday afternoon. It was amazing to see Christine after a year of being apart and we clicked back to being the great friends we were at camp.

Firstly I took Christine to Lush in Cardiff where one of the lovely girls there showed us some really amazing bath bombs, massage bars and skincare products. Although Lush apparently exists in the US Christine has never heard of it so this was a new experience for her. (I also purchased lots of new things!)

We met up with Rhian in Lush and after a little walk around Cardiff (because none of us actually knew where we were going) we finally found my car and headed home. I probably haven't mentioned that Christine is in an acapella group and she has this amazing voice, so on the way home we put on some music and sang (I howled).

After we settled Christine at my house we got ready to head back out for a reservation at The Nant Ddu Lodge Hotel, Spa & Bistro. Where we had an amazing three course meal.

Christine says:
It is so incredible to be here with Ffion! I still can't believe that I'm Wales. Anyway, when I arrived and saw her at the bus station we both almost screamed in joy before running to hug each other!

Cardiff is a beautiful city, albeit definitely confusing like Ffion said! Since being in Europe, however, I've become accustomed to getting turned around and getting super lost (in Hyde Park in London), so I just go with the flow for the most part!

Our first stop at Lush was 'lush' as Ffion would say! It smells incredible before you even enter the store! I purchased a bath bomb for my mom's birthday and a bubble bath bar for myself.
Rhian is absolutely lovely and we all had a great time together!

Ffion's house is beautifully nestled under a bridge and next to a bubbling brook that I can hear from my bedroom window. I'm so grateful for her family's hospitality.

So lastly, we had a fabulous dinner together where I sampled salmon roulade, chargrilled porkloin, and various desserts - all of which were delicious!

My first day was wonderful and I can't wait to see what else Ffion has planned for us!

  1. Ahh amazing that you have American friends come stay with you! Sounds like your're having a fab time! If Christine is in an acapella group - what does she think of Pitch Perfect? I love that film and can't wait to see the second on Friday!
